Shaikh Mohammad discusses tourism sector investments with Sri Lanka president

They discussed bilateral relations and ways to extend cooperation and investment

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday received at Zabeel Palace, Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka and his accompanying delegation.

Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to extend bridges of joint cooperation and investment, especially in the tourism sector.

Rajapaksa expressed his country’s desire to build an investment partnership with the UAE in order to develop its tourism sector, which enjoys many advantages and opportunities for investment and development. He praised the urban development witnessed by the UAE in different fields.

The meeting was attended by Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour, Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Mohammad Ebrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Ruler’s Court of Dubai, Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy-Chairman of Dubai police and Public Security and other senior officials besides Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the UAE, Mahinda Balasuriya.
