Gulftainer Jeddah terminal handles 20m TEUs

Dubai: Gulftainer said on Sunday its terminal in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has handled 20 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), a shipping container measurement, since 2000.

The Northern Container Terminal is the busiest container terminal in the port of Jeddah, Gulftainer said in a statement. Gulftainer subsidiary Gulf Stevedoring operates the terminal.

Gulftainer, a privately owned terminal operating based in Sharjah in the UAE, told Gulf News the milestone was achieved in the first three months of 2016.
