Emaar Healthcare Group ends partnership

Dubai: Emaar Healthcare Group, the healthcare subsidiary of Emaar Properties, has ended its partnership with Methodist International, the international subsidiary of The Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas, the Dubai-based company said yesterday in a statement.

The partnership, announced in June 2008, resulted in three medical centres being opened at Dubai Mall, Arabian Ranches and The Meadows.

"Emaar Healthcare Group and Methodist International will henceforth operate independently," the company said in the statement.

Clinics at Burj Khalifa and The Greens were also announced at the time of forging the partnership. The Burj Khalifa Medical Centre was planned as a premium out-patient facility. This plan was later shifted to Dubai Mall.

The partnership had also announced plans to develop facilities in the region.
