Dubai: Du has started implementing the fixed-line network infrastructure sharing deal with etisalat.

What it means is that etisalat customers who subscribed to fixed telephone and internet services can switch to du’s network.

Osman Sultan, CEO of du, said the deal was implemented from July 14 but only for limited customers per month and not for enterprises.

The network sharing agreement with etisalat was supposed to start last year but technical glitches delayed it.

The Internet Protocol Television and data services will be implemented after three quarters.

Etisalat and du are moving to faster fourth-generation broadband, which is not only less expensive to operate but also more technologically advanced, to retain customers who will enjoy higher speeds by year-end.
