DEC, US delegation affirm ties

Dubai: Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Dubai Economic Council (DEC) recently received the delegates of the US Consulate General in Dubai.

They were Justin H. Siberell, Consul General; Robert W. Dunn, Principal Commercial Officer, and Chuka W. Asike, Economic Officer.

The meeting was also attended by a number of DEC members: Abdul Rahman Al Ghurair, Raja Eisa Al Gurg and Husham Al Shirawi.

Also attending were Hani Al Hamli, DEC Secretary-general; Dr Abdul Razzaq Alfaris, Chief Economist, and Dr Hadif Al Owais, Chief Legal Counsellor.

Juma Al Majid welcomed the delegation and emphasised the importance of coordination and collaboration between the consulate and the local business community to enhance econ-omic links between Dubai and the US.

The US Consul General thanked DEC for accepting the invitation to discuss many issues pertaining to the economic and commercial links between the US and Dubai.

He also expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the Dubai Economic Council to develop Dubai's economy.
