Dubai:

Emirates partner Qantas is trimming capacity on domestic Australian east-west routes, according to reports.

An evening flight from Melbourne to Perth and a morning service heading back to Melbourne will be axed from late October, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported on Thursday.

The airline will also cut capacity on a return flight between Sydney and Perth operated by a Airbus A330, swapping the aircraft for a smaller Boeing 737.

Emirates and Qantas signed a joint-venture partnership in 2012.
