Al Wasl beat Al Ittihad on away goals

Dubai: Al Wasl beat Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad of Jeddah on away goals on Sunday to become the only UAE side to make it through to the second round of the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Following up a 1-1 away draw in Jeddah on August 24 with a goalless home draw on Sunday, Al Wasl now carry the nation’s hopes alone into the Last 16.

Al Ain earlier lost 2-2 on away goals to Algeria’s ES Setif, while Al Jazira lost 6-4 on aggregate to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.
