There are just four weeks to go until the Challenge Tour host their season ending event on their global international schedule on the 2022 Road to Mallorca, when the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A takes place at Club de Golf Alcanada, Mallorca, Spain.

The event will comprise the top 45 players on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, all aiming to finish the week within the top 20 on the Rankings to then graduate to the DP World Tour.

It is a golf tour which is no stranger to the UAE having previously hosted numerous events in the region, with their 2023 season no different, a minimum of five events across, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

Previously the Challenge Tour has also hosted tournaments in Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Oman. After a four-year hiatus, in 2023 the Challenge Tour will be returning to the UAE with a minimum of two events per season, all thanks to the collaboration with the Emirates Golf Federation. There will therefore be 30 spots in each of those tournaments allocated to the Emirates Golf Federation to help create playing opportunities and provide a pathway for Emirati golfers.

Currently leading the Road to Mallorca Rankings is Germany’s Alexander Knappe after two victories this season. There are 22 other players having already won this season with only two events remaining before the final 45 players are confirmed for the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A, and we are happy to announce Gulf News will be in attendance all week with event updates.
