Sixteen-year-old Abdulla Kalbat has become the youngest Emirati to be ranked by the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) after emerging victorious at the Junior Masters Golf Tour at The Track, Medyan.

The youngster posted round of 77-74-83 to beat Jordanian Hashem Shana'ah a commanding 13 strokes at the 54-hole tournament, which is sanctioned by the WAGR.

With the victory, the Emirati entered the WAGR in 3087th place, becoming the sixth player representing the UAE to be ranked, following in the footsteps of Sam Mullane, Ahmad Skaik, Thomas Nesbitt, Jonathan Selvaraj and Rayan Ahmed.

"I feel very proud to have gotten my WAGR rank after many years of persistent efforts in training and dedication in all my tournaments, said Kalbat, who was part of the UAE National Team that won the Gold Medal at the last GCC Golf Championship.

“Through all my hard work and not giving up, I have achieved this, and I am looking forward to all the opportunities that I have in my future.
