De Vires and Roeterdink claim Ladies Pairs Scramble at Jumeirah Golf Estates

24 Ladies split into 12 pairs and participated in the 18 hole event on the Earth Course

Jacqueline de Vires and Willemijn Roeterdink were theoverall winners of the Ladies Pairs Scramble Event held recently atJumeirah Golf Estates.

The format was a Pairs Scramble with the course handicap allowance played as combined (35% of the lowest and 15% of the highest). 24 ladies split into 12 pairs and participated in the18 hole event over the Earth course.

De Vires and Roeterdink dovetailed exceptionally well andscored consistently throughout their round. The pairing had a net 66 (six under par). They picked up a lot of steam towards the end of their round, going five under through the final seven holes.

The runners-up by one shot and determined through a count-back were Ritta Saarinen and Daisy Tuliao. The pair had a bogey-free back nine to finish with a net 67 (five under par).

In third place and narrowly missing out were Jane Vorster and Deirdre Joan Kemp, also with a score of net 67 (five under par).

Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Ginger Dela Cretaz, Golf Teaching Professional at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy, commented, ‘Congratulations to all our fantastic winners this week. The golfing conditions were unfavourable, but you handled yourselves well. On behalf of Jumeirah Golf Estates, thank you for joining us.’
