The Desert Rose Golfing Society (DRGS) and the UAE golfing season is now upon us.

Tournament calendars at clubs are being published and golf events across the UAE are now taking place. We can now announce that summer is over and the official UAE golf season has begun, especially for all us ladies.

All the clubs seem to be starting ladies’ golfing activities, whether for complete beginners, on the golf course or off the golf course, plus for the more proficient and some ‘expert’ lady golfers, which is all great news.

All us ladies are excited about the golf season ahead. At DRGS we are working with the golf clubs to enhance our membership offerings.

DRGS are excited to announce the following:
Arabian Ranches Golf Club — Yoga for Golf on Sundays.
Trump International Golf Club — DRGS Golf Lesson packages.
Jumeirah Golf Estates — DRGS Golf Lesson packages.
DRGS Staycation October 26-27 — a two-night / three-day stay: golf at Al Zorah Golf Club, Al Hamra Golf Club and Tower Links Golf Club.

Other initiatives we are finalising are the DRGS Order of Merit at JA The Resort, Jebel Ali, starting on October 18, and coordinating arrangements for our DRGS supporting cancer events during October, Breast Cancer Awareness month.

We look forward to adding more benefits for our DRGS Members with all the UAE golf clubs as we strive to set up a genuine UAE ladies golf community for both members and non-members of golf clubs, as long as they are registered with the Emirates Golf Federation.

With the softening of the Covid-19 border restrictions with Abu Dhabi we are excited to be discussing DRGS opportunities with Abu Dhabi and all the emirates, especially the Ladies InterClub Challenge (ICC), with further news to follow with meetings happening very soon.

Watch this space for all the 2021—2022 fixture announcements and participating clubs and teams.

We are driving all our activities and membership through our interactive DRGS website.

We would again like to thank the sponsors and supporters of DRGS who make the whole initiative both happen and worthwhile for all us lady golfers: Emirates Golf Federation, Gulf News, BMW, JA Resorts and Hotels, Orient Travel, Golf Superstore, Car Buying People and Mediclinic.
