De Roey, Caudal and Cano Lead after round 1 at Andalucia Open de Espana

Dubai’s Muirhead in strong finish with four birdies in last seven holes



Dubai based Alison Muirhead, 83rd in the current Race to Costa del Rankings, started on tee 10 and stood four over par on her 11th tee, but finished strongly with four birdies on holes 3, 6, 8 and 9 to score a level par 72 and also tied 13th.

Dubai: Manon De Roey (Bel), Anne-Lise Caudal (Fr) and Fatima Fernandez Cano (Sp) all shot 3 under par rounds of 69 to lead after the first round of the €600,000 Andalucia Open de Espana Thursday 25th – Sunday 28th November, 2021 played over the Los Naranjos course in Marbella, Spain.

20 players shot level par or better in a bunched field after day one of this final event of the LET season featuring a restricted field of 72 players.

Local Spanish players fill four of the top 12 spots on the leaderboard, including joint leader Cano and Nuria Iturrioz, the winner of the 2019 Dubai Moonlight Classic with 14 home players in the field.

Winner of the 2021 Race to Costa del Sol Rankings Atthaya Thitikul (Thai) shot a one over par 71 to lie tied 13th.
