Thousands of Indian expats in the UAE braved dusty and unstable weather to watch top diplomats raise their national flag tricolour across seven emirates to mark the 76th Independence Day on Monday. Indian Ambassador to the UAE Sunjay Sudhir hoisted the flag at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. At the same time, the tricolour was also unfurled by the Consul General of India in Dubai, Dr Aman Puri, at the Indian Consulate in Dubai, accompanied by the national anthem. Consuls from the consulate raised the flag on the premises of Indian associations in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Above Indian Independence Day celebrations in Dubai.
