Dopamine is a chemical in the brain, so when you feel good about abstaining from addictive behaviors like masturbation, shopping, alcoholism etc. and focus on self-enhancement, it releases a chemical in the brain which plays a huge role to make you feel motivated, courage, calm and satisfying.
