Lopez Obrador, a leftist austerity crusader, has been vowing to sell the aircraft since his 2018 election campaign, saying "not even Donald Trump has a plane like that." Under the government's plan, two-thirds of the proceeds will pay for the prizes and the rest will go to public hospitals serving "poor people."
