How to prevent and treat the seasonal illness



Adequate rest and hydration will alleviate the symptoms and quicken recovery in case of seasonal flu.

If your little one has the sniffles or is running a temperature, there are plenty of things you can do to help.

The first step is to eliminate the diagnosis of coronavirus.  

How can you tell if it’s the flu or COVID-19?

Quite simply, through a test. Symptoms are fairly similar - Both illnesses can cause fever, cough, body aches, and sometimes vomiting and diarrhoea (especially in children), explains US-based John Hopkins Medicine. So the only way to be sure is by taking a test.

Prevention is easier on the system

Making hydration fun
Child being fussy about drinking water? Mix things up. Try:
Clear soups
Soda
Popsicles
Ice chips
Cereal mixed with little milk

Can a flu shot help?

Dr Balachandar says a flu shot is the safest method to avoid the flu. It is very effective and can be even administered to babies. It will have no impact on the child's health and it is completely safe.
