Dubai: If you were planning to travel outside the UAE in the next few months, there are several options on the table, as air travel resumes from the UAE to many parts of the world.

The US, Europe, Africa and Far East destinations have opened up to travelers from the UAE, with flight operators Emirates, Etihad, AirArabia and flydubai catering to various routes.

COVID-19 precautions and regulations

Before travelling, however, there are many COVID-19 regulations that you need to consider. Firstly, there may be quarantine requirements at your destination, which need to be factored in.

If the destination requires a mandatory 14-day quarantine for passengers arriving to the city, it may make short trips impractical.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has a map of all the COVID-19 related travel restrictions being implemented by countries across the world.

The regulations are regularly updated and may be a good starting point for any travel plans you might be considering.

Secondly, visa regulations may vary based on your passport, so reach out to the embassies or consulates in your city to find out how long it may take to get the necessary travel clearances. Additionally, some routes may only be operating special repatriation flights.

It is also important to maintain a high level of health and safety practices when travelling, so follow this detailed guide on how you can travel safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
