Berluti dreams up custom vintage Land Rover
Iconic Parisian Maison Berluti is exploring its sense of adventure by adding quite a unique piece to its lifestyle objects collection - a vintage Land Rover Defender.
Berluti has turned shoemaking into an artisanal art form and they’ve been making shoes in Paris since 1895. The Maison expanded with a fine leather goods collection in 2005 and a clothing collection in 2011, still deeply rooted in classic and adventurous concepts.
Now Berluti has introduced a one-of-a-kind addition to its lifestyle collection with a vintage Land Rover Defender customised to its own tastes. Inspired by the thrill of exploration and shared experiences, the classic 1963 off-roader is an icon in its own right as one of the first cars to popularise 4x4s and turn them into a cultural symbol.
This particular Land Rover features some rather special attributes like a fresh paint job in the original sand beige colour, as well as some unique Berluti touches such as a convertible canvas top printed with an overblown Scritto motif, and seven seats covered in the finest Venezia leather with a Cacao Intenso patina.
Keeping things vintage, the dashboard boasts a pair of analog instruments, and Berluti didn’t forget hidden pockets and cases inspired by its own iconic bags. This classic Land Rover still has the chops to tough it out off-road too, with its original mechanicals preserved and modern upgrades to make it steer and brake better. If you want one you have to be patient though, because these Berluti Land Rovers are made to order.
Berluti’s lifestyle Winter 2022 collection includes travel blankets, pouches and backpacks, especially designed for hiking and adventuring, as well as a two-place hammock made of canvas and leather, so you can gear up to head off to your own adventure with or without a one-of-a-kind classic Land Rover.
