Prada and Red Bull teamed up for a world-first death-defying stunt in Dubai
What do you get when you combine the world’s highest infinity pool, a three-time extreme sport champion, Prada, and a drone? Well, you get nothing short of a world-first record-breaking jump by athlete Brian Grubb off the 77th floor of Dubai’s iconic Address Beach Resort.
The stunt in question is the latest feat by Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull, who once again partnered up to make history with American wakeskate champion and trailblazer Grubb. The idea this time around was to tow Grubb along the infinity pool on his board with a drone flying at 30 kilometres per hour, leap off the building 294 metres above the ground, and then parachute down safely. This meant that Prada and Red Bull pioneered a new death defying stunt that combines base jumping with wake skating which is not something we thought would become a thing.
Luckily for us Prada Linea Rossa and Red Bull don’t plan on stopping with their wild sporting initiatives any time soon, and the Italian label is committed to continuing to promote extreme sports as well as the individual ambitions of incredible athletes - Grubb for example, fulfilled a seven-year long ambition to achieve his wake-base dream jump in Dubai.
The American athlete was geared up from head to toe by Prada Linea Rossa, right from the wakeboard to the clothing and accessories for the stunt, providing comfort, protection, and unrestricted movement at the same time, all very handy equipment traits when you’re jumping off the 77th floor.
