GDRFA-Dubai hands over 3,000 Expo 2020 Dubai passports to visitors
Dubai: Around 3,000 Expo 2020 Dubai passports have been delivered to travellers arriving in Dubai today as part of an initiative by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.
Each traveller who landed in Dubai received an Expo 2020 yellow passport, in line with the mega event’s endeavour to encourage them to visit the Expo 2020 Dubai site and have the passports stamped from different pavilions.
Lt General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, said the initiative, in cooperation with Expo 2020 Dubai, is meant to encourage visitors to carry a souvenir of an unforgettable experience back to their home countries.
“Expo 2020 Dubai is a global event, being hosted for the first time by an Arab country. The passport design is inspired by UAE culture and will be part of an unforgettable experience for each visitor,” Lt Gen Al Marri said.
The vibrant yellow passport encourages visitors to see as many pavilions as possible during the 182-day event and is meant to help them relive those special moments, long after they have left the venue of the mega-event. The 50-page booklet is a perfect souvenir from Expo 2020 Dubai. It contains designs and pictures of the three Thematic Pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai, Al Wasl Plaza and other iconic Dubai landmarks.
