Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan visits UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai

Minister of Culture and Youth tours pavilion along with a group of accomplished Emiratis

Dubai: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and other UAE government officials visited the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai on Saturday. 

The delegation was welcomed by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion, along with a group of accomplished dreamers, Special Olympics participants, Paralympic medallists, front-line heroes and youth change-makers who personify the nation’s values, heritage and culture.

Centred on the theme ‘Land of Dreamers Who Do’, the UAE Pavilion showcases inspiring stories about the host country. It focuses on promoting the ambitious cultural scene of a country that revives hope and inspires minds, believing that the future of nations depends on humans. The pavilion captures the values of the UAE as a home to people from more than 192 countries from around the world, living in harmony and unity. The pavilion offers its visitors an inspiring experience in its content, rich in details, unique in its impact, inspiring the whole world with the spirit of the UAE and carrying forward the legacy forged by the nation’s founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

‘Country’s successful milestones’

In his statement about this historical event, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said: “The UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai is an exceptional cultural experience that will be added to the country’s successful milestones, with this global gathering being the largest and most distinguished in the history of World Expos. Through the pavilion, the UAE introduces its traditional Emirati and shared values to the world, through which we call for tolerance, coexistence and the consolidation of human connectedness.”

He added: “It was my utmost pleasure to share this experience with the Special Olympics participants, Paralympic medallists, aspirational youth, frontline heroes and ‘Dreamers Who Do’, who represent the story of the ‘Land of Dreamers Who Do’ and are considered the reflection of our nation’s ambitions. Their achievements express the values of ambitions and humanity, authenticity and openness, resilience and optimism.”

The delegation was welcomed at the UAE Pavilion by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, along with a group of accomplished dreamers, Special Olympics participants, Paralympic medallists, frontline heroes and youth change-makers who personify the nation’s values, heritage and culture.

‘Main heroes of our story’

Noura bint Mohammad Al Kaabi stated: “Today, we are honoured by all our people on the soil of the UAE, nationals, residents and all those who consider the UAE home. Our pavilion represents a platform from which we can tell stories of ‘Dreamers who do’ in the ‘Land of Dreamers Who Do’. They are the main heroes of our story and a reflection of our values and culture. They carry forward the legacy forged by our country’s original dreamer, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the nation, in an exceptional country that embraces them with their different dreams, ambitions and cultures.”

She further said: “As we reflect on our past 50 years and prepare to celebrate our Golden Jubilee, and looking forward to the next 50 years, the UAE Pavilion will be utilising special opportunities to tell the story of the ‘Land of Dreamers Who Do’, moments from our past and present that have contributed towards the UAE being a thriving and welcoming nation, whose collective progress has created a peaceful coexistence, ambition and authenticity. We are a nation that adheres strongly to its beliefs and values and welcome others who join our values of humanity while we respect their beliefs and cultures.”

Hospitality, coexistence and tolerance

The UAE Pavilion will engage its visitors with an immersive multi-sensory experience, where the essence of the UAE will be revealed through a series of true stories that capture and reflect the values of its people who show hospitality, coexistence and tolerance under an ambitious leadership. This experience will deepen visitors’ understanding of the UAE heritage, values and its people.
