Junaid Khan reunites with Hira Mani in ‘Makafaat’

Junaid Khan has proved himself to be one of the most intense actors of his generation. Also a popular musician — he is Call band’s lead vocalist — Khan has generally attracted screen roles that don’t fall in line with his real-life person which is the “sober and serious” type, by his own admission. As such he has often stepped out of his comfort zone, be it to play the abusive husband in Hania, or the obsessive lover in ‘Yeh Mera Deewana Pann Hai’.

In his next project, titled ‘Makafaat’, where he reunites with his ‘Sun Yaara’ co-star Hira Mani, Khan will be essaying a character that has “various dimensions,” he says.

Produced under the banner of Mastermind Production, ‘Makafaat’ is directed by Ahmad Kamran. The play’s lead cast includes Atiqa Odho, Ali Ansari and Marium Nafees.

Reportedly, the actors will begin shooting after Eid in Karachi. A major portion of the drama serial will be shot in Europe.
