Week ahead: Will tech earnings see market rout continue?

Questions swirl around what triggered last week’s sell-off



Dubai: What is going on with the markets? Are disappointing results by the big tech firms to blame? Or are underlying trade tensions weighing on stocks?

Or is there no reason for the rout at all? Well, Scott thinks he has an idea…

This week is a busy one, with presidential elections in Brazil, a number of companies expected to deliver their third quarter results, and decisions expected from the Bank of Japan and the Bank of England.

Both Facebook and Apple have yet to announce their quarterly results, and missed targets from the pair could see markets become increasingly panicked and drop further in to correction territory.

We also discuss the US jobs report, expected on Friday, and how political tensions leading up to the midterm elections on November 6 could roil markets further.
