First Tedx event held at Delhi Private School Sharjah on June 25
What months of planning wrought, on June 25th, Saturday– the first ever TEDx event at Delhi Private School, Sharjah. From conception to incubation, and finally execution, a student driven chaise and four, pulled off what many found nigh impossible. Scrupulous scrutiny, graceful swerves, and the crème de la crème of speakers, indulging in a chasse of words, catching the audience in a rhythmic sync.
What unfolded was a spectacle, as students trickled into the warmly lit auditorium, as the stage signs went up and as the speakers took to the stage one by one. The event was graced by the presence of Principal and Director, Ms. Vandana Marwaha, Vice Principals, Ms. Chitra Raghavan, Ms. Kashmira Kalyaniwala, and Mr. Rajeev Chandy. The first speaker, Mr. Sachin Bharti, CEO and Founder of Knowledge Planet spoke about the intrinsic meaning of passion and how one finds it. He strung the audience into a web of attention, and through sundry examples made his point across.
The second speaker, Mr. John Govada, Regional Sales Manager at Patriot Ceilings Technologies, drew episodes from his journey that catapulted imagination and lead onto the importance of self-esteem. The third speaker, Dr. Jagpreet Singh Deed, Senior Surgeon at Zulekha Hospital, Published Author, and Professor, spoke about the ever-burgeoning proliferation of AI in the medical sector.
Finally, the last speaker, Arun Rajeev Sankaran, CEO and Founder of FinOS, spoke about living and not just existing – an empowering talk that brought the show to a close. This was TEDxYouth@DPSS, an agglomeration of profound ideas – bringing people and the world together. The student organizer and license holder for the event was Dhiresh Himthani, under the mentorship of Ms. Veena Nair. Nityaansh Parekh, Rishabh Jotwani, Siddhant Pradhan, Manya Narula, Mahika Agarkar, Akarsh Singh, Midhun Balakrishnan and Vignesh Vinod were a part of the organising team that together, made this event a success!
