Darryl Cullinan, Director of Coaching MS Dhoni Cricket Academy says, “We aspire to be the world leader in developing a new generation of players and coaches, fully equipped technically, physically, and mentally to meet the demands of all formats of the game, through the core values adopted by M.S. Dhoni or as we call it THE DHONI WAY.”

These core values will be complemented by leadership, skill and Mindset development. The Dhoni Way recognises that traditional cricket training has always placed a high value on 4 key elements: Technique, Repetition, Quantity of practice and coaches mentoring the thinking ability of players.

The "Dhoni Way" looks at conventional cricket coaching, practicing, and playing from a different perspective with a fully integrated programme for coaches and players featuring:

• Adaptive cricket and skills coaching for all ages, either online or on the ground.

• Mindset development, either online or classroom learning.

• Leadership development, either online or classroom development.

However, we have been seeking a better way to develop the technical preparation and mindset of cricketers for some time now. Cricket is asking for this and "The Dhoni Way" looks to deliver this by embedding four driving factors in the way to coach, practice and play cricket.

• Quality over Quantity so players practice their match day rituals and routines as part of their regular practicing and training.

• Effective techniques instead of perfect techniques, so players learn how to achieve outcomes in competitive situations and different conditions.

• Adaptability over Repetition, so players learn to think on their feet and adapt to changing conditions and match situations.

• Player Ownership over Coach Management so players learn to solve problems and show leadership and take ownership of their own preparation, thinking and performance analysis.

As a team we aspire to design and deliver a distinctive, high value and scalable programme that transforms world cricket.

Mihir Diwakar MD of Aarka Sports says “We have come a long way today to create sports excellence and is sure to provide a meaningful platform to aspiring cricketers in the country through a structured program that equips the players with the skills they require to succeed in cricket and in life. Our unique and ground breaking coaching programme is built around the core values with which our mentor MS Dhoni lives and plays by: Integrity, teamwork, enjoyment, professionalism and adaptability. I am confident about the fact that a systematic learning programme will teach the basics of cricket at a young age.”

Coaching in MSDCA imparts a lot of game sense and practical activities, with its focus on developing a participant’s ability to perform during a match and not just in the nets. MSDCA Cricket Coaching Program will promote the importance of developing quality cricketers as well as people who are leaders, have strong team work capabilities, strive for excellence and display sportsmanship and fair play.

The event was hosted with enthusiasm by a budding nine-year old cricketer and commentator Arjan Singh. Arjan, a young YouTuber (Arjan’s Cricket Reviews) has been part of IPL 2020 panel discussions for various television, radio and social media outlets. Arjan shot to fame after he went viral during the 2018 Asia Cup match against Afghanistan, incidentally the last time MS Dhoni captained for Team India.
