Castrol lubricants, in association with Central Trading Company, has partnered with the Aster group of hospitals to provide basic health checks for the automotive mechanics community.

“The objective is to reach out to each and every mechanic in the country to spread awareness and at the same time provide them the opportunity to reach out to the medical experts in their neighborhood,” Castrol said.

The company said that mechanics tend to work for long periods and don’t take adequate breaks, which exacerbates health concerns.

“I work for 16 hours every day. I cannot remember the last time I had my medical checkup. I would like to thank Castrol lubricants for their continuous care for our mechanics community,” said Mohammed Sajid, a car mechanic in Ras Al Khaimah.

To help the mechanics, teams from Castrol and Aster made a door-to-door visit to all garages and provided professional health screening.

“The campaign has seen significant interest levels among the mechanics community and they have shown keenness to participate with health queries in their mind,” Castrol said.

“I have been a car mechanic for the last 27 years and I have worked with many lubricant companies. The Castrol team gave us caring hands during peak Covid times, and now they are back with a wellness programme,” added Mohammed Ali Yousuf, a car mechanic based in Sharjah.
