Over 67 million flyers at Dubai airport in 9 months
Dubai International continues to strengthen its position as world's busiest hub for global flights
Dubai: Some 7.2 million people passed through the departure and arrival halls of Dubai International airport in September, according to the latest data.
This brings the year-to-date traffic at the emirate’s aviation hub to more than 67 million, up by 1.4 per cent from January to September last year.
Last month’s traffic number, however, is down slightly (-0.2 per cent) compared to the same period last year, but this is because Eid Al Adha was celebrated in September 2017.
During the month, a total of 7,197,866 travelled through the emirate’s main aviation hub, making the year-to-date passenger traffic to 67,521,436, up 1.4 per cent from the previous year.

The airport has been crowned the world’s busiest airport for international travel.
In 2017, nearly 90 million people passed through Dubai International, up by 5.6 per cent from a year earlier, making it the world’s busiest hub for international flights, according to Airports Council International.
According to ACI, there are more people passing through Dubai’s airport compared to London Heathrow and Hong International.
