Cadillac set to reveal its first ever electric vehicle in April
Concept to be a crossover; brand to offer mostly EVs by the end of this decade...
Cadillac has just revealed the 2021 Escalade and it looks terrific but there is bigger news than the all-new large premium SUV to bring you – the brand will be revealing its very first ever electric vehicle in April.
Cadillacs knows full well that it must continue to launch new models and going the electric route is the next logical step.
Currently, General Motor’s luxury arm doesn’t have an EV (its only hybrid model, the CT6, is set to be discontinued) but one is on the way and it will be a crossover based on the brand’s new flexible architecture.
GM President Mark Reuss announced that it will debut this April and also went on to say that it "will offer mostly electric vehicles by the end of this decade." He also said that these new EVs will have names rather than words.
Design-wise, we are expecting something similar to last year's EV concept crossover renderings shown at the 2019 Detroit auto show.
GM is also in the midst of bringing back the Hummer brand which was once known for its thirst for fuel – but this time it will be as an electric-only model.
