Manila: Senators Benigno ‘Noynoy' Aquino and Manuel ‘Manny' Villar are almost tied, according to the latest presidential survey carried out by the Social Weather Station (SWS).

In the survey of 2,100 registered voters, held from February 24-28, Aquino got an overall score of 36 per cent while Villar, the former Senate President, received 34 per cent.

Both candidates saw their popularity levels fall from those witnessed in a January survey in which Aquino had 42 per cent and Villar's tally stood at 40 per cent.

Former President Joseph ‘Erap' Estrada had a score of 15 per cent while Gilbert Teodoro, the administration's candidate, tallied six per cent.

"It means that the voters who changed their minds voted for Estrada or Teodoro," the SWS said.

Four per cent of respondents were undecided.

"We can safely assume that at this point, it's anybody's ball game," said Congressman Gilbert Remulla, Villar's spokesman.

Business World commissioned the SWS survey.

Last week, a Pulse Asia survey, carried out on February 21-25, said Aquino tallied 36 per cent while Villar had a score of 29 per cent.
