Like a regular Brothers Grimm fairy tale, John Cena declared he’s willing to undergo surgery, if it means that having children — and marrying — Nikki Bella.
The star-crossed lovers of the squared circle made their way back to each other on Sunday’s episode of Total Bellas, a reality series documenting the lives of twin sisters and pro-wrestlers Nikki and Brie Bella and their romantic partners.
Cena and Bella announced their breakup in April, just three weeks before the pair were scheduled to wed. In May, Cena appeared on Today with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford to declare his continuing love for Bella and earlier this month, People confirmed that the couple had reunited.
The heart of Bella and Cena’s issues seemed to centre around his unwillingness to have children. For her, that was a dealbreaker.
On Sunday, the pair hashed through their differences in a heart-to-heart that featured Cena making a big promise.
“I physically can’t have kids,” he reminded Bella — and the audience during the conversation. “So I’m also telling you that I’m willing to have surgery and then still go through with being a dad.”
Bella pushed Cena to make sure he wouldn’t recant in the future.
“I’m not gonna change my mind,” he solemnly insisted. “I would never, ever say something like this.”
Bella was overjoyed at the declaration and assured Cena he would be a great dad.
“Just tell me you love me and that you’ll marry me,” he replied.
Nothing says romance like a vasectomy reversal.
Bella and Cena have yet to announce a revised wedding date.
