5 magnitude earthquake hits Iran, no effect felt in UAE

Dubai: A significant earthquake, registering 5.0 magnitude, rattled southern Iran in the early hours of Thursday morning.

"The quake occurred at 4:38 a.m. south of Iran, at a depth of 10 kilometers," reported the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The tremor was not felt in the UAE and had no impact on residents, the NCM added.
