Child traumatised after seeing his mother stab father fatally
Dubai: A Yemeni woman has been arrested for stabbing to death her husband while sleeping next to his 10-year-old son, local media reported.
The horrific crime took place in western Yemen’s Houthi-controlled Al Hodeidah Governorate.
According to media reports, the suspect stabbed her husband in the chest many times before their young son woke up to the cries of his father. The victim is said to have suffered from severe bleeding, which led to his death.
Sources said that the child was traumatised after he saw his mother stabbing his father fatally.
The local “Aden Al Ghad” news portal stated that the security services of the Houthi militia arrested the suspect. No information about the reasons and motives of the crime has been revealed so far.
Over the past period, Yemen has reported an alarming increase in family crimes, which is getting worsened by the continued deterioration of the living, economic and security conditions in the country.
During the course of this month, Yemen witnessed three husbands killing their wives in separate crimes, in the governorates of Marib, Al Dhalea and Taiz, due to family disputes and other undisclosed motives.
