Dubai: The body of a Saudi teenager, who was swept away by strong floods, was recovered Wednesday evening after five days of search, local media reported.

The 17-year-old boy was swept away by a strong flood on Saturday evening in the Kingdom’s Hai’l region, which witnessed thunderstorms and heavy rainfall that led to flooded valleys.

Saudi civil defence teams along with dozens of volunteers intensified their search after combing the flooded valley and nearby areas to find the boy.

A video capturing the moment when the boy was swept away in the floods went viral on social media platforms.
