Saudi Arabia reports lowest daily infections in several months
Virus claims the lives of 31 more patients in the last 24 hours
Dubai: Saudi Arabia reported 576 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, marking the Kingdom’s lowest daily reported infections in several months.
According to the country’s Ministry of Health, the virus claimed the lives of 31 more patients in the past 24 hours.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 328,720 and virus-related fatalities to 4,430.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,145 more patients completely recovered from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 308,352.
Mecca reported the highest daily detected cases with 58 new infections, followed by Jeddah with 52 cases, Hafouf with 47, Dammam with 37 and Riyadh with 35. The rest of the new cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.
The active cases also continued to drop drastically with 15,938 of them reported on Friday. Out of the total active cases, 1,189 are in critical condition.
Saudi Arabia recorded its highest daily increase on June 19 when 4,301 cases were confirmed over a 24-hour period. New infections since then have been falling consistently, reaching below 600 on Thursday for the first in more than four months.
