Saudi: 2 years in prison, SR500,000 fine for damaging railways
Also includes maintenance workshops and train fuel stations
Dubai: The Saudi Public Prosecution has announced penalties for damaging railway lines, stealing any of its facilities, equipment or purposefully destroying any of it.
According the official twitter page of the Kingdom’s Public Prosecution, the penalty for this kind of act include sentences of up to 2 years in prison and/or a fine of up to 500,000 riyals.
The railway equipment and facilities include stations, workshops, maintenance workshops and train fuel stations, in addition to train navigate yards and train stoppings and its cars.
The public prosecutor’s office is responsible for investigating and prosecuting the offenders in case these acts are committed.
The penalties also included payment of all expenses and necessary expenditures to remove the resulting damage, restore the situation to its original condition, compensate for the losses arising from it.
