Cairo: A fight erupted between two expatriates in a restaurant in the holy Saudi city of Mecca, leaving one of them dead, local newspapers reported.

During the brawl, which happened on the first day of Eid Al Fitr, one of the two quarrellers stabbed the other with a knife. The victim was pronounced dead upon his arrival at a hospital in the city.

Both parties to the fight were Yemeni men, the Saudi online newspaper Ajel reported.

The suspected killer, in his 40s, had inflicted multiple stabs on his compatriot in a Yemeni food restaurant located in Mecca’s district of Al Azazia, it added.

He was arrested and is now in remand, as security authorities have started investigations into the incident. The cause of the brawl is not clear yet.
