COVID-19: Saudi Arabia reports 1,428 new coronavirus cases, 37 deaths

Sunday’s cases push total number of confirmed infections to 288,690

Dubai: Saudi Arabia announced 1,428 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom to 288,690, according to the Ministry of Health.

Thirty-seven people died from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of fatalities to 3,167, the ministry said during its press conference.

The ministry also announced that 1,599 people have fully recovered, pushing the total number of recovered cases in the Kingdom to 252,039. The recovery rate has risen to 86.74 per cent. The ministry conducted 52,099 PCR tests over the past 24 hours.

Mecca registered the highest daily reported cases with 125, followed by Riyadh with 106 and Hufof with 90.

There are 33,484 actives cases, including 1,816 critical patients under intensive care.
