Canada retrieves body of Saudi man

He is believed to have tripped into Niagara Falls while on a family outing

Riyadh: The body of a Saudi man, who went missing near the Niagara Falls a week ago, has been found by Canadian authorities, a relative has said.

Qassim Bin Yahya Adawi, a Saudi scholar in New York, was on a picnic with his family next to the famed falls last week when he left them inside their car and went to take some photos. He was never seen again alive. He is believed to have tripped and fallen into the water.

After days-long search, his body was found and retrieved in Canada, his wife’s brother told Saudi news portal Ajel.

“It has been officially announced that the recovered body was that of Qassim,” he added. “The body has been identified by a forensic doctor in Canada based on the deceased’s teeth image,” he said.

Adawi was in the US to study for a doctoral degree in aviation technology and administration. He is survived by three children.
