The ministry said that the remarkable increase in the number of the confirmed new cases is attributed to several reasons, including the rise in the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which has started to peak.

The new infections are expected to continue to increase before they begin to gradually decline.

The ministry also attributed the rise to the increasing PCR tests and intensified efforts to for infections through intensive and proactive testing of groups of peoples who had been in contact with the previously confirmed cases, thereby contributing to the early detection of many new cases and further reduction of the spread of the virus.
