Dubai: Qatar reported 392 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infected people to 4103, Qatar News Agency announced on Thursday.

Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health said that nine coronavirus infected patients have fully recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 415.

The new cases are linked to people who had been in contact with the previously confirmed cases of Qataris and expatriate residents, but most of the new cases are related to expatriate workers. The total number of cases includes seven fatilities that were announced previously.

Among the newly detected infections are a few cases among citizens and expatriate residents who approached healthcare facilities after they developed some symptoms of respiratory tract infection.

The ministry attributed the remarkable increase in the newly detected coronavirus cases to the expansion of the scope of COVID-19 tests and conducting intensive and proactive examinations of people who were in contact with the previously diagnosed patients.
