Dubai: Oman Embassy in New Delhi has advised Omani citizens not to travel to India unless necessary.

The move comes on the heels of the steady increase in COVID-19 infections in India.

In a statement carried by the Oman News Agency (ONA), the Oman Embassy in New Delhi said Omani citizens are advised to avoid traveling to India in the current period unless absolutely necessary, due to the steady increase in the number of COVID-19 infections, which exceeded 200,000 cases per day, prompting local authorities to take several precautionary measures, including restricting movement and prohibiting some activities.
