Oman: Food trucks to operate inside airport parking
Muscat: In a unique move, Oman Airports has called for owners of food-trucks to serve in the P5 parking area at Muscat International Airport.
The message shared through Oman Airports’ social media platforms, says , “A call to all food trucks. We are looking for food trucks selling snacks only.” The announcement further asks those interested to email their Instagram page and contact number to the concerned in Oman Airports.
With the restrictions in place due to current pandemic situation, there has been very little footfall to the airports compared to the pre-Covid days.
While there are flights operating to various destinations, by Oman’s own airlines such as Oman Air, and Salam Air, apart from other airlines, the frequencies are much less.
Air-bubble agreement
The Air-bubble agreement between India and Oman, which is in place till end of this month as of now, allows only the national carriers of both the countries namely, Oman Air, Salam Air, Air India and Air India Express to operate flights between Oman and India.
The current regulation of compulsory seven-day institutional quarantine has also resulted in many travellers deferring their travel plans.
This initiative of calling food-trucks for service at the airport parking has been appreciated by many. The capital city of Oman has food trucks in certain select areas that are known for selling snacks at affordable prices.
