Oman: Drug trafficker of Asian nationality arrested by police

The dealer is said to also be involved with international gangs

Dubai: A drug trafficker has been arrested by the Royal Oman Police (ROP) in Muscat governorate, the Royal Omani Police (ROP) announced on its Twitter page today.

A statement issued by the ROP said: “The General Administration for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances arrested a drug trafficker of Asian nationality in Muscat, after follow-up operations in which it clarified his involvement with international gangs to smuggling drugs with the intention of trafficking and abuse. ROP seized in his possession 11.5 kilograms of crystal drug.”

The statement continued, “The ROP thanks citizens and residents for their cooperation in combating the scourge of narcotics by reporting any information that helps detect smugglers and promoters by calling the Hotline of the General Administration for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (1444) or going to the nearest police station.”
