Oman: Citizens praised by Environment Authority for rescuing eagle

Dubai: Two Omani men rescued an eagle found in South Al Sharqiyah, which was in critical condition, and handed it over to environment authorities.

According to a statement by the Environment Authority: “Omani Yousef Khamis Al Kamali and Ahmed Mohammed Al Arimi found the eagle in a critical health condition. They thankfully handed it over to the Environment Department in the Governorate of South Al Sharqiyah, which is responsible for protecting wildlife.” The initaitive forms part of a nationwide campaign to protect wildlife and endangered species, local media has reported.

The statement continued, “We always value the cooperation of all parties in our campaign aimed protecting and preserving biodiversity, the environment and wildlife in the Sultanate.”
