In recent weeks, Oman has experienced an uptick of the virus infections, prompting authorities to tighten preventive measures.

On Tuesday, a supreme committee in charge of tackling COVID-19 announced keeping the governorate of Dhofar and the state of Masirah closed until further notice as part of precautions against the spread of the highly infectious ailment.
