COVID-19: Oman records 513 further cases, tally at 7,770

Cairo: Oman's Health Ministry Sunday announced 513 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking to 7,770 the country's overall infections, the Omani news agency ONA reported.

The newly diagnosed cases include 179 Omanis and 334 foreigners, the ministry said without giving a breakdown of foreign patients’ nationalities.

Two Omani nationals had died of COVID-19, bringing the total such fatalities in the country to 36, the ministry announced Saturday night. The latest fatalities were aged 68 and 76, according to the ministry.

The total recoveries from the disease in Oman have increased by 85 cases to reach 1,933, the ministry said.

It added that the next update on the virus cases in the country will be issued on Tuesday, the third day of Eid Al Fitr.
