Pakistan eyes bigger share of Kuwait labour market
In recent months, Kuwait has sought to send back home unskilled, illegal workers
Cairo: Pakistan is looking forward to increasing the numbers of its nationals working in Kuwait.
Pakistan’s Ambassador Syed Sajjad Haider voiced the hope during a meeting with Director of the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Manpower Ahmad Al Mousa.
The Pakistani diplomat also expressed his country’s readiness to provide experienced and skilled labour needed in Kuwait’s labour market, according to Al Jarida newspaper.
The two officials discussed issues of mutual interest, especially those related to the Pakistani labour and promoting links between both countries, the report said.
Skilled manpower
Al Mousa expressed his agency’s readiness to cooperate with the Pakistani embassy in Kuwait and coordinate with the bodies concerned in the Gulf country to devise more effective mechanisms to attract skilled Pakistani manpower.
Pakistanis are one of the largest expatriate communities in Kuwait with their numbers estimated between 130,000 to 180,000.
