Kuwaiti kills stateless man over fake hashish
Cairo: A Kuwaiti citizen has admitted to having stabbed a stateless man who had allegedly duped him into buying adulterated drugs, a local newspaper reported Tuesday, citing a security source.
The murder took place in the area of Al Salmiya, east of the Kuwaiti capital where the 35-year-old victim had been hospitalised with piercing injuries in the chest and the hand. He died later.
Police identified the main suspect after examining the victim’s smartphone contacts, Al Anba newspaper quoted the source as saying.
The suspect said in investigation that he had contacted the victim to buy hashish and paid him the agreed money. But he later found out that the hashish he got was mere a date paste mixed with other substances.
When the alleged drug dealer refused to refund the money, the suspect stabbed him and escaped.
After arrest, the suspected murderer said that he had not intended to kill the man. Police found the knife used in the crime and pressed charges of premeditated murder against the 23-year-old accused.
The drugs purportedly sold by the dead man to the suspect have been referred to the scientific forensic department for examination.
