Kuwait: Woman gets life in prison for killing husband
Murder reportedly occurred during dispute over woman’s drug habit
Cairo: A Kuwaiti criminal court has sentenced a woman to life after convicting her of murdering her husband during a dispute last year, local media reported.
The 27-year-old woman was charged with killing her husband by hitting him with a vase in their house in the governorate of Mubarak Al Kabeer April last year during an altercation over her refusal to be treated for taking drugs, the media said.
She admitted in investigations to have also hit the victim several times on the head with a hammer to ensure he was dead and wrapped his body in a carpet.
She took refuge in a friend’s house for days after the murder.
The crime came to the police’s attention after a report from the husband’s brother, who said he had not heard from him for long. The brother later went to the house where he found the dead body wrapped in a carpet.
