Kuwait records 698 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths

Latest cases take infection tally to 96,999, fatalities to 571

Cairo: Kuwait Wednesday confirmed 698 new cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, a drop of 131 cases compared to the tally reported the day before, taking the country’s overall infections to 96,999.

Three more deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded, raising Kuwait’s fatality tally due to the disease to 571, the Health Ministry’s spokesman Dr Abdullah Al Sanad said.

There are 93 patients receiving intensive care treatment, Dr Al Sanad added, according to the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA.

Kuwait’s total virus tests have reached 689,588 after 5,384 tests have been done over the past 24 hours.

The Health Ministry said that the overall recoveries in Kuwait have reached 87,187 after 968 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
